Drummer man Matt Burr
Still sounds funny to call Matt Burr the husband of Grace Potter, even though they’ve been a couple for a decade-plus. Anyway, the newlywed drummer for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is taking over Nectar’s for three straight Wednesdays in December. He’ll be playing in a Pink Floyd tribute project called Dark Side of the Mountain with a few fellow noteworthy Vermont musicians – guitarist Bob Wagner (Kat Wright, Joshua Panda), bass player Jon Rogone (Ryan Power, Paper Castles) Josh Weinstein and keyboard player Dan Munzing (Ryan Power, Errands). They’ll be at Nectar’s at 9 p.m. Dec. 4, 11 and 18 and cap the run off with a Sunday-night gig at 9 p.m. Dec. 29 upstairs at Club Metronome, with a special guest, keyboard maniac Marco Benevento. I’m not a big Pink Floyd fan and definitely not a fan of tribute bands, but the musicianship on hand for this one sounds interesting enough to check it out.
